Itinerary
While visiting the city you will notice that Barcelona is contrasted between a cosmopolitan and traditional city. There is everything you may want: Museum filled with priceless treasures, architectural wonders, animated beaches and streets that smell of joy.
Wonderful, not only for its art, its medieval center, the modernist buildings of the Eixample or the Gothic district (which still is the political and cultural center of Barcelona), but also for its great vitality, its bars and the nightlife that seems to be never ending.
In Barcelona, you will also enjoy the main architectural masterpieces of Gaudí, soul of “catalan modernism” and appreciated in such a way that the UNESCO declared them as “World Heritage Site”.
Among these masterpieces we can mention the Park Güell, the Palau Güell”, the Curch of Colonia Güell, the Sagrada Familia (started in 1883 and in under construction since then), the beautiful and vibrant Casa Batlló, the Casa Milà (populary know as La Pedrera) and the Casa Vicens.
Neither can you miss a walk along the “Rambla”, a very unusual and centric pedestrial avenue. Every night this famous avenue is invaded by the crazyness of the city, from “Plaça de Catalunya” to the statue of Christopher Columbus overlooking the commercial area ‘Maremagnum”, in the port of Barcelona.
Football fans will also be delighted by the impressive FC Barcelona stadium called Camp Nou. Its 99.000 seats make it the biggest stadium in Europe, even before Wembley. Even if from outside, the stadium does not look so big, it is a complete different story from inside and you will hardly remain indifferent to its size.
The Magic Fountain of Montjuïc offers a spectacular show of color, light, motion, music and water games. When all these elements are mixed in the right combination, we can assure you that you get pure magic, a unique and highly recommended show.
Trust us, Barcelona has something to offer for every taste! Just to keep on with the “taste” topic and conclude this introduction to Barcelona, no tourist should leave the city without trying the tasty Catalan gastronomy in one of the numerous traditional restaurants you can find in the city. Moreover, you must visit the colorful “Boquería” market, which atmosphere will allow you to understand instantly the true character of Barcelona and its citizens.
