El Carnaval de Cádiz: one of the most famous carnivals in the international scene
The Carnival of Cadiz is the biggest event in Spain and one of the most important carnivals in Europe. The whole city is transformed, people of all ages celebrate all night long singing and dancing.
On this special night everyone dresses up in costumes, children, young and old, creating an incredible atmosphere throughout the city.
Our recommendation to make the most of it is to start on the beach: enjoy the first rays of sunshine after winter, and stay until sunset before heading back to the city to start the party.
During the carnival there are several options to have a good time. You can watch the “cabalgatas” and you can even take part in this colourful parade. You can also enjoy the “charangas ilegales”, another characteristic element of the Cadiz carnival: families, groups of friends or work colleagues who compete against each other, always with good humour and laughter.
Dances, fireworks, and an infinity of other activities contribute to having a great time. Besides, every street in the centre you come across will be full of people celebrating, there’s no excuse!!
