Description and itinerary
BENALMÁDENA:
Benalmádena is located in the heart of the Costa del Sol, it is a privileged territory both for the beauty of its landscape and for the friendliness of its people. From Malibu to Fuente de la Salud, passing through La Viborilla and La Verdad, the beach areas of Benalmádena have very suggestive names!
COLOMARES CASTLE:
It was built between 1987 and 1994 by Esteban Martín and Martín to pay tribute to Christopher Columbus and the Discovery of America.
The monument presents various elements of the symbolism of the Catholic Monarchs, of the three cultures present in medieval Spain (Christianity, Judaism and Islam) and other elements of Columbus’s journey. It is worth noting the presence of a Chinese pagoda that symbolizes the original idea of Columbus to reach the coasts of Asia.
BUDDHIST TEMPLE OF BENALMÁDENA:
Did you know that the largest Buddhist Stupa in Europe is located there?
From the road you can already see a bright and golden cone sticking out, as if it wanted to touch the sky … It is the famous temple known as the Stupa of Illumination, one of the largest Buddhist temples in the western world, inaugurated in 2003 .
According to Buddhism there are 8 types of Tibetan Stupas (temples), and in this case, the Benalmádena Stupa symbolizes Buddha’s enlightenment.
The temple has incredible views, it is 33 meters high and its decoration is amazing. In it we can find the 5 main elements of Buddhism: fire, air, earth, water and the mind; and you have to walk around the temple in a clockwise direction while thinking about your wishes and requests.
PUERTO MARINA:
Puerto Marina, also known as the Andalusian Little Venice, has been awarded the title of Best Marina in the World on two occasions.
The port is made up of artificial islands, connected by small bridges, which house many holiday apartments due to their extraordinary location in such a privileged setting as this one.
MIJAS:
We will also visit the beautiful village of Mijas and its small streets typical of Andalusia.
